Tardiness policy

I am disappointed that some of you have been turning in assignments well past deadlines. This is not a good practice for future journalists. It's also unfair to your fellow students and to me. So here is the policy that we will adhere to for the remainder of the semester.

1. If you are having trouble meeting a deadline, let me know. If you have a good excuse, you will not be penalized.

2. If an assignment is turned in a day late, you will lose 10 points. If it's two days late, you will lose 20 points. If it's three to seven days late, you will lose 50 points. No assignments will be accepted that are more than a week late.

3. This applies to blogs as well as to papers.

4. An assignment is a day late if it is turned in the day after it is due, even if fewer than 24 hours have passed.
