1. Post a blog on either something observed in nature or on a scientific question. Following Sandi's suggestion, all future blogs will be due the same time each week: at 8 p.m. Sunday.
2. Submit your nominations for the top three blogs, in order of preference, by 8 p.m. Monday.
3. Submit a proposal, with tentative lede, for your next article, which should be on global warming or a health topic. Tell me what you want to write about, how you'll research it, whom you'll interview, and what direction you expect the story to take. We'll discuss your ideas in class.
4. Read Wikipedia entry on intelligent design and this Seattle Weekly article on the movement's growth and financing. Be prepared to discuss intelligent design in class. Is it science or not? How should science journalists treat intelligent design?
